Our family's recipe is different. Get a duck and cut if up in big pieces for ex leg and thigh is = 1 pc only. Wash the duck pieces and put in boiling water for a minute or two to rid it of scum and smell. Take the duck out. Get a clean pot put some oil and sauteed a big pc of crushed ginger put duck, and water. Water level should be just around 32inches above duck pieces.. Bring to a boil, add sibut and some salt. NO MSG pls. After water boils, put fire in very low simmer and of course cover. Simmer for like 1-2 hours until duck is fork tender. and water has been reduced. Get a bowl and put some misua (manok brand not the misua you find in supermarket) about 200g inside and then scoop soup in let it stay for a few minutes to cook the misua and then lastly put in a pc or two of duck pieces (or chicken).Note: If you will be using chicken then use native chicken for more flavor and more nutrition. And buy good quality sibut at ongpin not in the supermarket

Re: Ramen Nagi

Si gentle to. Hehehehe i was there on their second day last december. Hehehehe Fortunately i only waited 5mins to get a seat. Soup stocks was good. Noodles are springy which is how its supposed to be. But theres still something something missing. I just cant put my toungue on it now. But as far as ramen goes, this one is way up there. And the price is reasonable for a japanese ramen. A bowl of chasyumen in an ordinary roadside restaurant cost P550 on the average. So the P410 is quite reasonable.

How i wish the tamago comes free with the soup kahit half ng egg lang but i like how its runny inside like how a real tamago should be.

Anyways after having so many ramen lately, i still go back to la mien. Almost same taste since they also use pork bones like the tonkotsu soup base of ramen nagi. Only La mien restos are so much cheaper and bigger bowl. Try kan zhu, its very good too at a very reasonable price of P165 per huge bowl of reshly made la mien noodles with braised beef.

Re: Recipe: Meatballs

Hi Roch, this looks yummy, Okay nga 'tong pangbaon sa school. I'll have to wait for her to teach me so I learn :))

It's the first time for me to hear 'ti-ka' in sibut.

Re: Recipe: Meatballs

yay! Also, I use flour instead of breadcrumbs. Will try baking it like you did instead of frying like I usually do! Thank you for this idea, tamang tama pasukan na bukas, ok pambaon sa kids.

Re: Recipe: Sibut Chicken Soup

My recipe, or rather my mom and grandma's recipe which they taught me, is even simpler. Wala nang stir fry, just put the chicken and the si-but in water and boil. Sometimes nilalagyan ng ti-ka (pig's trotters). Pero kung duck, mas ok ma stir fry to take away some of the gamey smell. Mmmm, perfect for chilly days!

Re: Meralco Bright Idea – Switch to Induction Cooking

Am interested. Here's the trick some girl showed me at the Apple store : turn it upside down + back of the phone facing you. Hold it by the sides with your left hand. Put your finger in the camera hole. There you go!

Re: Recipe: Lomi

So instead of cooking oil, maragarine ang gagamitin for gisa. mmm. Actually depressing. Too much soup and its quite cloudy. The only thing i like there is the tempura and the gyoza. The gyoza in particular is good value for money. I think santouka and ramen nagi is so much better.

Re: Strengthening my Spiritual Journey

It is nice to know that a fellow Christian is seeking to know our God.
